Hi, I am Rev. Jeff McCumber!
I came to UNC Asheville in July 2019 as the new campus minister. I attended Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C. and I am an ordained pastor in the Western NC Conference of the United Methodist Church. I’ve served in churches everywhere from Eastern NC, Washington D.C., Charlotte, and the Asheville area, but my passion is working with students and young adults.
I pride myself in being a huge nerd and will look for any excuse to indulge in board games, passionate conversations, or anything off-the-wall.
My wife, Andrea, is also a pastor in the United Methodist Church and serves at Groce United Methodist Church in East Asheville.
I would love to get to know you!
Feel free to call or text me at 919-222-0993 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Student Ministry Interns
My name is Sarah Lutes, I’m part of Wesley because of the welcoming nature of the ministry. As soon as I walked in, I was seen and accepted for who I was and I was consistently met where I was in my faith. Wesley has helped me develop my faith over the past several years, from a time where it wasn’t very strong. Wesley pushed me to think more about my faith and kept me connected to the church at a time I could have very easily fallen away from it. We hope you will come and hang out with us!
My name is Emma Hodges, and I’m part of Asheville Wesley because of the strong sense of community and how I’m able to question things in my faith journey. I believe that Wesley is a great way to find forever friends and to be able to make real connections with people. I really appreciate how we can all be very honest about our feelings and have real-life conversations but also still have faith forming discussions on the same night. Wesley has become like a second family to me. Come join us!
